This was the first stab at my vampire warlock character Alexi! My DM had just moved back to Portland and was really excited about the revitalized Greyhawk campaign setting. We started a fresh game upon his return while I had a couple different character ideas, my obsession with vampires won out in the end.
I remember finishing this illustration and while there were aspects of Alexi’s character I feel like I captured, I didn’t quite capture what I was hoping too. Ultimately I knew I would have to return to the drawing board in a couple months to give it another stab but this was a good start.
Growing up poor and sickly on the streets of Rauxes, Alexi found hope and purpose severing the Church of Dawnfather. But his life took an unexpected turn after being bitten by a vampire in the dead of night. Sentenced to death by sunrise, Alexi fled his home, crying out to the Dawnfather to save him from his oncoming vampiric hunger. The Dawnfather fell silent… but something more sinister answered. The darkness promised free will for the price of Alexi’s soul.
