This Illustration took me FOOORREVER and, just like with my previous Alexi illustration, I didn’t quite capture what I was hoping for. We had somewhat recently wrapped up our Sermon on the Mount series at Bible Project and I wanted to integrate elements of that style into my own. Ultimately I I ended up having to just call it after weeks of fiddling back and forth with various elements, I just could never seem to get it where I wanted to.
I do still really like the colors and values here but if I were to do it all again I would have chosen a different rendering style. But sometimes thats how it goes, you have a vision for something and you just gotta try it out even if the end product doesn’t land the way you may have hoped. Se la vie.
Growing up poor and sickly on the streets of Rauxes, Alexi found hope and purpose severing the Church of Dawnfather. But his life took an unexpected turn after being bitten by a vampire in the dead of night. Sentenced to death by sunrise, Alexi fled his home, crying out to the Dawnfather to save him from his oncoming vampiric hunger. The Dawnfather fell silent… but something more sinister answered. The darkness promised free will for the price of Alexi’s soul.
BRAE.
